The proposed changes for #Android to require #developers to be identified, are really damaging:
* Can cause real harm to some devs: https://commonsware.com/blog/2025/08/26/uncomfortable-questions-android-developer-verification.html
* I cannot see how vital Android #FOSS / #FLOSS projects like #FDroid (that does builds from sources) will be able to work on phones with Google services.
* Will harm in general the Android #OpenSource ecosystem, since devs will also have to pay a fee or face installation and number of apps restrictions: https://developer.android.com/developer-verification/guides/android-developer-console

Diskussionen om digital uafhængighed er højaktuel. Flere og flere får øjnene op for, hvor dybt afhængige vi er blevet af globale tech-giganter. Både i forhold til betaling af dyrere og dyrere licenser, men især den manglende datasuverænitet og ikke eksisterende sikkerhed for hostede data.
Løsningen er open source som er et sikkert alternativ til proprietære løsninger. Hos Semaphor har vi en palet af open source produkter, som vi glæder os til at præsentere på Digitaliseringsmessen i Odense Congress Center den 24. september 2025.
