#Valkey is a fork of #Redis. There shouldn't be too much of a difference and existing system monitoring can be re-used. WRONG!
Besides TLS communication, Valkey (as MemoryDB service in #AWS) also supports user and password authentication. Both are changes which aren't supported by the (old but reliable) check_redis #monitoring plugin.
Luckily there's #opensource. The valkey-status plugin from Linux Fabrik almost does the job, just needed a little love/contribution.
