Besonders Firmen nehmen gerne und geben nichts. Kenne ich aus jeder mittelständischen Firma für die ich bisher tätig war.
Lieber wird etwas zu 90% identisches aus FOSS-Komponenten neu entwickelt als die Entwickler eines existierenden Projekts zu bezahlen oder sein eigenes Zeug in den Upstream zu bringen.
Aber wehe es geht um Sicherheitslücken, dann wird "Provided AS IS and comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY" sehr gerne ignoriert und man verlangt gratis-Arbeit 😊

Du kommst also ohne OpenSSL in deinem Betriebssystem aus, verwendest nur Websites und Apps, die IIS mit Microsoft ASP.NET im Hintergrund nutzen und setzt keine Browser-Extensions ein. Eigentlich setzt du KEINEN Browser ein 😁 . Dein Smart-TV verwendet NICHT EINE (!) FOSS-Bibliothek, dein Auto ebenfalls nicht und so etwas wie Android nutzen doch nur 1-5 Nerds, gell? 😊

I love Debian. With Hashicorp's switch to the non-open-source "business source license", looks like they're no longer interested in providing boxes for Vagrant (owned by Hashicorp).

This really has gotten out of hand for #FOSS devs. Because, if I really like your project, I'll kick in a good $50 to say thank you. Because I'm a FOSS dev. That shit can be thankless. And we are subsidizing funding other people's amazing work while corporations are basically taking advantage, and now #AI is blatantly stealing code in repos without contributing upstream.
