In Frankrijk moeten alle ministeries plannen indienen om over te stappen op #OpenSource-oplossingen. Het doel is om tegen 2027 zeker 500.000 werkstations naar Linux te hebben gemigreerd. Dit is geen vrijblijvend advies maar een strategische verplichting.
Frankrijk investeert 660 miljoen euro in deze transitie naar digitale autonomie. Het model hiervoor is de Gendarmerie Nationale, die al jaren succesvol met een eigen Linux-variant werkt.
