I just pushed some updates to my #SelfHosted recipe app, so now recipes can be tagged. Currently, this only applies to the JSON endpoint. I’m currently working on the form to tag recipes. I’m trying to make the #UX as smooth as possible and am moving some logic to the server for better compatibility.

I also opened some issues (tagged with good-first-issue or help-wanted). Go check it out:

Windows has fallen to 40 percent of US government website traffic according to analytics #usa gov data. For general US internet traffic, the figure is approximately 31 percent.

Commercial trackers like StatCounter report 70-75 percent globally. The difference reflects methodology. Commercial trackers analyze partner websites—mostly entertainment and media. Government websites reach a more diverse audience.

October 2025 marked a critical moment. Microsoft ended support for Windows 10, installed on hundreds of millions of PCs. A significant portion do not meet Windows 11 requirements. Owners faced a choice: buy new hardware or find an alternative. A portion chose Linux.

France is moving its government apparatus from Windows to Linux. Similar initiatives are underway in Germany, India, and elsewhere. Major technology companies have long moved their engineers to Linux laptops.

For the open-source ecosystem, this means more developers, more hardware support, more corporate investment in open projects. Windows is no longer the default. It is now one option among several.

🔒 A trio of developers have made public its #OpenSource KeePassXC fork called KeePassχ, and it's meant to stay completely free of LLM-assisted contributions. The project is a direct response to #KeePassXC leadership officially allowing "responsible" LLM usage in its development.
