Step into a high-impact 40-minute talk on scaling detection engineering beyond traditional SIEM limits. This session introduces DetectFlow and other open-source tools designed to transform how SOC teams process signals, correlate behaviors, and build detection pipelines using technologies like Kafka and Flink.

Discover how modern detection pipelines leverage AI-driven correlation, Sigma rules, and MITRE ATT&CK mappings to process massive volumes of data in real timeβ€”reducing noise, accelerating detection, and enabling analysts to focus on what matters most. A deep technical dive into how open-source innovation is reshaping SOC operations at scale.

Andrii Bezverkhyi is an entrepreneur and cybersecurity expert specializing in threat detection, detection engineering, and cyber threat intelligence. As co-founder of SOC Prime @soc_prime he has helped build widely adopted tools like DetectFlow and Uncoder, used by thousands of organizations globally.

Some more workshop work on the SDG2042X Linux GUI today (got a free Monday): Fixed 5 bugs in this round, including ARB handling on the real instrument, sweep fallback timing, preset handling, and one unsafe input-parsing corner.

I hope GUI is getting a bit less fragile / more reliable.

GIMP 3.2.4 shipped Saturday. Co-maintainer Jehan fixed a bug in the XCF file format handler that has lived in the codebase since 1999. The same release adds a compatibility path so the corrected loader still reads every file the bug ever wrote. Long-lived open source pays a tax proprietary software hides. Every old bug becomes a contract you cannot break. Fixing the loader took weeks. Carrying 27 years of broken files forward sits in the code forever.
