Las estrellas/favoritos de Mastodon no me suman absolutamente nada.
¿Para qué sirven
1. Medir la popularidad/engagement de lo publicado:
No meinteresa en absoluto. Si nadie le pone favorito a lo que escribo no pierdo el sueño. Y si una publicación de golpe recibe cientos de favoritos, no voy a ponerme a analizar a ver qué hice bien para intentar replicarlo.
2. Para marcar publicaciones que me gustaron:
Si algo me gustó, me gustó. Si es algo reciente, me voy a acordar que me gustó, y si fue hace mucho, es tan poco práctico buscar los favoritos antiguos que es inservible.
Si fuera para guardar cosas para leer después o porque siento que voy a poder querer consultarlas denuevo en el futuro, ya existe la otra función de "guardar" (que tampoco uso, porque guardo los links para revisar en otro lado fuera de Mastodon).
Entonces, los favoritos de Mastodon no tienen ninguna utilidad para MI.
Para lo único que creo que siguen sirviendo un poco es para ayudar a destacar ciertas publicaciones, sin llegar a compartirlas en mi timeline.
La sección de "trending" muestra ahí (creo) publicaciones que por distintos factores se considera que están recibiendo atención, y uno de esos factores es la cantidad de estrellas que tienen.
En fin, desactivé todas las notificaciones sobre favoritos, y sólo veo los comentarios y las citas, y mis notificaciones son mucho más relevantes y menos insidiosas.
Siguiendo esa misma línea, también desactivé el contador de notificaciones sin leer, así que tengo que entrar explícitamente a ver las novedades para ver si hay algo nuevo.
"¡¿Pero qué pasa si no entrás a ver las notificaciones en dos semanas?!"
Entonces no veo las nuevas notificaciones durante dos semanas, el mundo va a tener que intentar sobrevivir sin mí durante ese tiempo.

Seltsam ist, dass die komplette Sendung kein einziges Mal auf vorhandene alternative Netzwerke wie #BlueSky od. #Mastodon hinweist bzw. #Opensource bei Cloudservice, Mail & auch 🇪🇺KI etc. Die ARD thematisiert u. jammert ü. die Oligarchennetze, ändert aber nix an ihren Aktiväten dort.

Auf kleineren Instanzen versuchen sich immer wieder irgendwelche Marketingfuzzis einzunisten, die dann von dort versuchen ihren Müll zu verbreiten. Erst sind sie auf größeren Instanzen unterwegs, werden dort vermutlich gesperrt und probieren es dann weiter. Erlebt ihr das eigentlich auch?
