One of the things I’ve disliked about social media in general (especially Mastodon since it’s supposed to be better) is keeping score on each post of how many replies and boosts it’s gotten. Score keeping this stuff doesn't incentivize community.
Well, it turns out there’s a client that mostly agrees with me. Phanpy hides all that stuff until you click into a post. I’m liking it way better than ice cubes.

I wish #Mastodon gave finer control over who can see a post, than just "followers". I want to let people follow me as they wish, without having to worry about very personal posts being world-visible. It would be very good to be able to manually add followers (or even non-followers?) into subgroups based on trust level, and make posts only visible to those.

I couldn't visit Joshua Tree Parks and NOT go to Mastodon Peak!
So here it is!
It's in a more arid part of the park so there isn't many Joshua tree there.
But it's quite a sight anyway!
I spent almost 1 hour on the peak, completely alone, enjoying the silence of the desert (yes, apart from the wind there's no sound, it's eerie and wonderful).
