I am not making an account on their network just so I can see a private message, one that may or may not be of any value. If the person really wanted to communicate, they would open up their posts to be visible.... or create an account on Mastodon and communicate here!

All #Bluesky posts depend on their privately owned network to propagate. Even for those who self-host, if Bluesky-owned circuits do not allow permission, or for any other reason is unable to function, all communication is cut off through the Bluesky network, regardless of their stated plans for the future, which they have not implemented as of today.
Meanwhile #Mastodon is decentralized and our posts flow freely.

for those that are not aware: you can use markdown on the glitch-soc fork of mastodon. you can enable it by either:
- enabling it in settings → preferences → posting defaults, which should also enable it for clients not aware of glitch-soc features, or
- entering app settings → compose box and toggling "Show content-type choice when authoring toots"
you don't ever need to use the unicode formatting here (which is notoriously inaccessible to screen readers)

Miért döntöttem a saját, #publikus #Mastodon #szerver mellett?
Mert így én menedzselhetek mindent és nem korlátoz az #500 karakteres #limit sem. Ha szeretném, több karakternyi szöveget tudok kiírni magamból. Hosszasan kifejteni a saját gondolataimat az élet kis és nagy dolgairól.
Elmélyedhetek egy-egy témában mélyebben is akár.
Igaz, hogy az 500 karakteres limitnek megvan az a szépsége, hogy visszafogja az embert és rákényszeríti, hogy minél tömörebben fejezze ki a gondolatait. De, ennek ellenére én is sokszor futottam bele abba, hogy egyszerűen ezt nem tudom megtenni.
A válaszolgassunk saját magunknak és x/y módon jelölgessük, hogy éppen melyik szakaszában vagyunk a hozzászólásnak az kicsit sok nekem. Megtöri a lendültet az olvasóban és a fogalmazóban is.
És ezért a saját publikus Mastodon szerver. Bár, regisztrálni nem lehet publikusan, ugyanis tényleg csak magamnak, esetleg személyes ismerőseimnek szeretném meghagyni ezt a teret.
És nem utolsó az sem, hogy így minden gondolatom az én teljes kezeléseben marad.
