Klar, auf #Mastodon gibt es kaum Christdemokraten mit Klarnamen & die letzten Wochen vor der #LandtagswahlBW gab es hier immer wieder auch manchmal fiese Rempeleien. Finde die Wahlbeteiligung & Stärke der demokratischen Mitte gut, aber #AfD ist mir zu stark, die demokratischen Oppositionsparteien zu schwach.
Finde die konstruktive Haltung von Manuel #Hagel gegenüber den Grünen gut:
Der #CDU sei es immer wichtig gewesen, "dass wir unseren Wahlkampf mit Anstand führen, mit Stil führen und vor allen Dingen entlang von den Inhalten, wo wir überzeugt sind, dass sie für unser Land wichtig sind". Leider hätten aber in den letzten Tagen dieses Wahlkampfs eher andere Themen eine Rolle gespielt – "zum Teil mit Angriffen weit unter der Gürtellinie". Das sei aber nicht sein Thema. "Das müssen andere für sich verantworten, und nach dem 8. März kommt der 9. März. Da müssen alle wieder runter vom Baum."
Jetzt hoffe ich auf eine verantwortungsvolle Regierungsbildung.

Nearly 50 years ago, the city of San Diego put an end to the nation’s first municipally recognized “clothing-optional” beach, banning nudity on a 900-foot strip of shoreline at Black’s Beach.
But today, beachgoers continue to stroll, sunbathe and frolic buck naked on that stretch of sand, in defiance of the law.
I can attest to this illegal behavior, having witnessed it myself. Let me explain.
During a recent visit to San Diego with my girlfriend, we came upon Black’s Beach at the base of 300-foot cliffs below the Torrey Pines Glider Port. No sign at the parking lot alerted us to the beach’s history. As we set down our beach chairs, we spotted two fellow beachgoers strolling by, sans bathing suits. And then a couple more lounging in their birthday suits. And then a few more.
“Didn’t you research this beach before we came?” my chagrined girlfriend asked.
Cue me, looking befuddled. Had I done my due diligence, this is what I would have learned.
The counterculture days
It was the 1970s in San Diego. Antiwar protesters marched in the streets. The Earth movement and the hippy-themed musical “Hair” were all the rage. “Nature freaks” roamed the city, said Carol Olten, a historian for the La Jolla Historical Society.
Amid the counterculture vibe, the San Diego City Council voted in 1974 to create what is believed to be the nation’s first “clothing-optional” beach...

We are all born naked, and sculptures of the human body in its natural state are as old as humankind.
In the history of art, nudity does not have just one meaning; it can express everything from innocence to sexual desire, from triumph to defeat. The 20th-century art historian Kenneth Clark made a distinction between the “naked,” meaning unclothed and ashamed, and the “nude,” meaning the body in its most beautiful form. Most people today use the two words interchangeably, though.
The most influential male nude statues come from ancient Greece, starting in the sixth century B.C.E. There were a number of reasons for this cultural focus on the nude male body – in fact, the classics scholar Larissa Bonfante encouraged thinking of Greek nudity not just as a lack of clothing but as a “costume” in and of itself. In other words, nudity was something you wore in particular situations.

Artists portrayed many of the valued figures in Greek society – including gods, athletes, warriors and heroes – naked. Nudity was a feature of public life in certain settings: For example, athletes exercised and competed in the nude, and statues of the brawny nude demigod Herakles might adorn a temple. Nude, striding statues of young men called kouroi were used both as offerings to the gods and as grave markers.
Having a fine, athletic, youthful body, whether honed for athletic competition or for fighting wars, was not only a sign of being “kalos,” or beautiful, but also could prove your “arete,” or excellence.

Well, you are here communicating through #Mastodon .... so we both found a more open and #decentralized form of communication. It's not perfect, because it still relies on the internet backbone itself, unlike communication such as amateur radio, but Mastodon sure beats many of the alternatives, in my opinion.
I was asked to leave two different Mastodon servers because the admins did not like my posts, but because it is decentralized, I found another and can still communicate.
