Since I‘ve seen the figure monthly active Mastodon users I am not convinced our site will ever be a more than small niche.
Wondering why.
Comparison of Mastodon vs new apps created after Twitter Muskageddon:
⁃ Mastodon: about 770k monthly active users
⁃ Threads: 320,000k monthly active users
⁃ Bluesky: 4,000k daily active users. Maybe twice as many monthly?
Threads has the unfair advantage of Insta/FB user base,okay.
But vs. Bluesky? And that decline year to year?

Spaß beiseite: Wer entscheidet eigentlich, welche Werte in KI-Systeme einfließen? Meistens ein kleines Team in einem Tech-Konzern. Vielleicht sollten da mehr Stimmen mitsprechen – Philosophen, Betroffene, die Gesellschaft. 🤔

I'm looking for a #mastodon client on #android with *one* requirement:
When I create a complex toot for a long time (necessarily switching to other apps to fetch links etc.) don't *destroy* my work. Keep the draft (at least if I explicitly save a draft, but not only), including alt text and image order. It's worse then enshittification. It was *born* shitty.
Apps that I've tested and failed me:

Wobei diese Aussage eben schon nicht trifft, denn "hier" ist halt strengenommen nicht bei Mastodon (es gibt keine mastodon-Netzwerk"), sondern sondern es müsste heißen "hier im Fediverse". Schreibt Euch jemand von Friendica aus. Das Pool der Leute, mit denen kommuniziert werden kann hier ist im Fediverse unabhängig von der genutzten Software. @EliasBKK @rpolenz

- Infrastruktur verursacht Kosten
- große soziale Medien haben ganze Teams, die kontrollieren, dass Posts Gesetze einhalten (Stichwort Urheberrecht)
- auch die Kosten für Security (DDoS, Bots, ...) wachsen häufig mit der Größe einer Plattform
