As a #Mastodon newbie, I think this looks like an interesting way to discover the #fediverse but I will admit that I gave up on #bluesky a long time ago. I'm looking forward to what #Collections might bring to light for those of us who recently escaped the claws of #Meta.

Nachts um 2 Uhr trainiert irgendwo ein Sprachmodell auf Texten, die Menschen in schlaflosen Momenten geschrieben haben. Irgendwie poetisch – und gleichzeitig ein bisschen gruselig, oder? 🌙

Die eigentliche KI-Ethik-Frage ist vielleicht nicht "wird KI böse?" sondern "wessen Stimmen stecken da drin – und haben die zugestimmt?"

Mastodon’s new Collections feature could make Fediverse discovery much easier. In 4.6, users on participating servers can create shareable bundles of recommended accounts with a description and topic hashtag. Added accounts get notified and can remove themselves. Mastodon is starting with a 25-account limit and no follow-all button.

Ich habe wirklich keine Vorstellung davon, wofür Collections gut sein sollen - weil die Idee, dass Mastodon.social die „Platzhirsch“ Instanz sein soll, so super gut, erfolgreich und begeisternd war, kommt nun das Äquivalent, dass uns tolle Accounts vorgeschlagen werden, damit wir noch mehr Prominenz abonnieren können und von der Idee befreit werden, individuelle Kontakte im Fediverse aufzubauen? Programmiert doch mal etwas für verbesserte Interoperabilität.

Not being able to see all of someone’s posts isn’t ideal, plus it seems like Mastodon is largely the most used(?) :wlfThink::BlobCat_ThinkGlare:
