Somehow I did not manage to reconfigure #Mastodon after installation to use an email relay instead of local mail.
No email was sent and I did not find any clear error message.
Easy workaround was to setup #Exim on locahost to use the relay.
Nice task for me, who administered #sendmail only for 20 years

Забавная ситуация на днях вышла с моим интернет-провайдером. Забыл вовремя пополнить баланс, и доступ в сеть, конечно же, ограничили. Самое интересное, что при этом работают поисковики, открывается Mastodon.ml, и даже некоторые иностранные мессенджеры доступны. А вот зайти в банковское приложение или российский мессенджер, чтобы попросить друга кинуть денег на счет — никак.
Получается замкнутый круг: нет денег — нет доступа к российским сервисам, чтобы эти деньги перевести. Чем руководствуется провайдер, выстраивая такую логику, мне всегда было интересно… Какой-то "френдли фаер", не иначе.
