Funny #mastodon search interaction. I was looking for something about MIT (the US University). But there’s a lot of German speakers who use the word “mit” a lot. (It means “with”)
No problem, right? I can search for “language: English”. And that’s when I find all the bilingual posters who post German language in a post labeled English. A lot more than you’d expect.

I know it's old fashioned and quaint to use an actual web browser for social media, but I'd like to take a moment to sing the praises of Mastodon's advanced web interface (option pictured--it's in the preferences.)
Once enabled, you can "pin" things (Notifications, Live Feeds, Lists, et al.) and they'll appear as columns. Tap the "1" key for the 1st column, "2" for the 2nd column, etc.
From there, the "J" and "K" keys will navigate up/down the column. Very cool!
