@steter @JonChevreau To me, it’s so sad. The rationale I always get when I bring it up is Elon’s Nazi Bar is still where the real action is and where true engagement still happens, and #Mastodon is just a side show at the very most. They’re missing out on potentially great interaction here, along with unwittingly continuing to boost the Nazi Bar. I’d particularly love to see John Fugelsang here; I’m currently reading Separation Of Church And Hate, and it’s very much speaking to me.

If I had to sum up the reasons I prefer #Mastodon over other microblogs,
I prefer discussions of Linux kernel drama over governmental politics,
I prefer celebrating someone who made something cool over yet more AI slop,
and I prefer talking to friends over parasocial relationships with wannabe influencers.
