#Mastodon #web #UI gripe: When I tap “mute” on a hashtag, I expect it to be muted. I don’t expect to be sent to a page listing “filters.” Apparently, to mute, I have to “Add a filter,”and there’s a nice big button asking if I’d like to do that. Well, yes, but I thought I made my feelings clear already when I tapped mute. If I have to fill out a form, I expect to be taken straight to a form prefilled with the hashtag I was tapping mute on, but alas.

All right, has something changed with #Mastodon or popular client software recently? Anything besides an influx of users from BlueSky?
My feed is suddenly overflowing with posts to followed hashtags in various languages I don't speak or read.
I haven't had time to look at every account before muting, but they don't all appear to be new users.

The #Mastodon 4.5.0 will introduce some interesting new features. The one I've been waiting for a long time is the Automated fetching of remote replies.
This will make the experience much smoother, especially for smaller instances.
As usual, I'm not going to upgrade until this will be released.
