IMO we're much better off without algorithms prioritising some posts over others here at Mastodon.
Everything posted gets a fair chance of exposure and discovery, so there isn't that sinking feeling (hello Instagram) of having been made invisible because you're not playing the algorithmic game.
As a result, engagement seems genuine and of value here, rather than being prodded along by tech bros who want to make money from your involvement. Down with algorithms, I say.

Why is it that, many times, when someone boosts a post and I go to it, I can see the booster's name, date, etc. but I can't get to the original post or see the original poster's name? I am on the main someplace.social page and am using NVDA with Firefox. My guess is that, if I went to my Home timeline, I could see it there, but why not at the actual post?
