In Gaza, even having money doesn’t mean you can use it. They don’t accept worn-out currency; it has to look new to be accepted. As you can see in this picture, this is the money I currently have, but they refuse it completely. Worn bills become another obstacle in the daily struggle to survive. #mastodon question: how much does the instance you are on affect what you see? I very rarely look at the local feed, but does the instance I’m on affect what I see in my follow feed? I seem to recall reading somewhere that I will see posts from people I follow in my follow feed, but replies to those posts by people on a different instance might not show up for me? and maybe also boosts of my followee’s posts by users of other instances I might also not see? Is that right? Is there somewhere I can read up on this?
