Do you think calling posts 'toots' had a negative effect on Mastodon?
I think maybe, but I also kinda don't care. I think when I first came on here I was like, 'why they called toots, that's stupids!' but I kinda like the toot now.
I think some serious social media shouty types might have scoffed at the concept of a 'toot' and laughed far, far away from Mastodon but that kinda sounds like a win to me.
idk there are enough sensible types on here I think .. somewhere .. not sure where though.

Jeg er ved at tage mig sammen til at skrive en motiverende #robot til #Mastodon. Ideen er at den skal skubbe lidt til nye brugere, så de får billede og profiltekst på. Måske skal de endda også ud og følge en 5-10 brugere. Guleroden kommer I form af skriverettigheder, når man har løst en håndfuld simple opgaver. Måske en automatiseret nypåmastodon hilsen. Det sikrer at der er lidt kød/tofu på de annoncerede profiler og at brugerne kommer godt fra start. Thoughts?

I've seen people here and there talk about receiving massive amounts of harassment on Fedi for being some marginalised group, whether that's queerness, gender, race, or something else, often leading to them leaving. The most recent one was from a woman with multiple times my followers, but I've also seen the sentiment from people with a fraction of mine 
While I don't go into their replies saying this, I just don't seem to get harassed. Replies I get to my posts seem genuine, ernest, understanding, and thoughtful, and I can count the nasty DMs I've gotten over my 3+ years on fedi on one hand (with fingers left over for a mug of cocoa). Nastiness that finds me tends to be individuals I'm asking to not whitewash poc or to use CWs to not retraumatise marginalised folks, but that's at most once every month or two. I'm part of 5ish marginalised identities yet seem to get less harassment than a bunch of people with only 1, and it's got me thinking a bit 
Cutie.city is a fairly lax instance when it comes to blocks, so either our mayor does some seriously pinpoint precision work combined with future sight or that's probably not the main cause of not getting harassment. It could be that those people with 1 marginalised identity are more marginalised than my 5 combined, but irl, at least, one of mine can't even use bathrooms in government buildings, and I share some identities with people I've seen speak about being harassed so that's probably no it either 
I've had multiple posts hit 3 digit boosts, and it's not like I make don't make tons of posts that have room for reply guys 
Thinking about it, the conclusion I come to is that all of you who follow me are to thank for my experience on Fedi. Not only do you yourselves engage with me in ways that make my time enjoyable, the circle of connections you have also seem to be relatively safe for my posts to be boosted into 
Thank you all for that because it's made me fall in love and stay in love with Fedi for over 3 years now, through multiple instance migrations and through various difficulties (both on and offline), and made me feel like this is home for me in a chaotic world where home is hard to find 
Please continue being kind to me and to each other~

Ya largamos el deploy del ElasticSearch que va a demorar una vida en indexar nuestra base de datos que es enorme, dado que nuestra instancia es de la edad de bronce (en edades mastodónticas) cuando todo esto era realmente pradera verde allá por comienzos de 2017. Eso va a llevar tiempo, pero le index se irá poblando de a poco, por lo que las búsquedas pueden no arrojar muchos resultados todavía. Se sigue sincronizando el directorio de cache (varios cientos de GB que aún no termina) pero fuera de todo eso, está todo andando a primera vista, muy bien. Se nota la mayor agilidad (eso que los discos están a full), se supone que cuando el nodo se ponga a tiro con todo, será mucho mejor. Por favor si ven problemas, algo no funciona bien, comenten.
