The scan reveals religion, politics, disability, and employment status.

Nearly a quarter of the people who responded to this poll indicated that #LinkedIn helped them with hiring or getting hired or both.
Obviously not a representative sample and all that, but if that's anywhere close to accurate, then we can't just tell people to tell LinkedIn to fuck off and stop using it, as much as we'd like to be able to do that.
There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and people need to do what they need to do to survive.
@BleepingComputer LinkedIn responded defended themselves by saying the user who reported the issue was banned for scraping content.
That may be, but its not remotely a denial of the accusations.
As part of the campaign in removing everyone from the market who might actually make use of the Digital Markets Act, LinkedIn started injecting malicious code into the browsers of their users, without their knowledge or their consent.
At the time of writing, this code downloads a list of 6,222 software products and brute-forces the detection of each one. The scan covers extensions with a combined user base of approximately 405 million people.

@downey I was locked out a year ago for no reason (probably VPN use) and was asked to go through Persona to verify. Never. Privacy Hell squared right there. So now I can’t even delete my account! Tried all communication channels but nope… locked out. So now my albeit minimal data floats in the evil æther. #LinkedIn #BrowserGate #Privacy
Now give me a good reason to leave LinkedIn (if you haven't done so yet 😀 )
LinkedIn Is Illegally Searching Your Computer.
Read the whole thing at https://browsergate.eu/ this is corporate espionage on a massive scale due to LinkedIn's billions of users 🕵️
A normal person says, "That's drunk driving."
#LinkedIn says, "That's a motivated multi-terrain transit study focused on state-dependent learning."
#BrowserGate Update: The consensus is clear—basic "Shields" don't stop LinkedIn’s 6,000-point plugin inventory.
Firefox users: Multi-Account Containers are your best defense. For Chromium, I’ve updated the breakdown with uBlock Origin filters to kill the script at the source.
