#Instagram sometimes displays things with full screen brightness, which is revolting. It's because they were made with High Dynamic Range lighting enabled, which your phone implements by cranking up the brightness on just that content. Gross.
The iPhone app has an option to turn off HDR content, but not the Android one - so you have to search settings for "HDR" and turn off "Enhanced HDR brightness".

Of course they claim that, #Musk "tweaked" the algorithm and it sucks now. In what universe is that dweeb the most impactful person on #twitter? Think of how absurd it would be if you saw something from Zuck every tenth post on #Instagram. Twitter/x is the first actually victim of the dead Internet theory. I'm sure it is mostly bots up/down voting what's ever is good for his stock prices and ego.
