Being curious and excited about SHA-256 commits and reftables in #Git, I have added these aliases to my Git config:
[alias]
init3 = init --object-format=sha256 --ref-format=reftable --initial-branch=main
clone3 = clone --ref-format=reftable
"3" in this case refers to Git 3.0, and the settings are the new defaults of that major version. Given that Forgejo and by extension Codeberg support SHA-256 repositories, I'll try only creating "new" repositories from now on.

) we are now making more money than we are spending.

Ever since we started renting servers back in May 2025 our funds had been slowly depleting because the monthly bills from hosting providers exceeded our monthly income. Fortunately, we could sustain this situation for a while because of a reserve built up from generous contributions on Open Collective since June 2024. Ich bin hier halt ziemlich zufrieden, wie das bisher läuft:
- Meine Graphen liegen in meiner eigenen #nextcloud. Der Nextcloud-Client übernimmt den Sync. Da ich nicht gleichzeitig am Notebook und Desktop mit #logseq arbeite, hat das bisher ohne Dateikonflikte funktioniert.
- ein Graph mit sensiblen Daten liegt zudem in einem #cryptomator-Container. Damit sind die Daten auch #e2e-verschlüsselt.
