I run SVN on my little FreeBSD box because I think data should also be versioned with the code.
I read that #git has LOPs now (large object promisors) so is it possible to use them already?
Even if no forges such as @forgejo supports then yet, what about a bare repo over ssh?

These #git triage bots, I get it.

But still it feels kinda rough when you spent a bunch of timing writing some technical proposal for a new feature, no one looks at it for ~3 years and then some bot comes around and closes your issue.

I've somehow succeeded in getting to have files shown in the graph that are not in the project. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

if I run git --all --oneline --graph shows more lines (a whole separate projects's worth) than git --all --oneline

Meanwhile the project that shows up where it shouldn't - is just fine when run those same commands from that directory.

How is this possible? Anyone ever have this happen? What did you do about it?

#DearDiary, today I diagnosed an issue, fixed it, and submitted a PR for somebody else's #code for a #vscode extension, because I wanted to use that extension to work on my own project but couldn't without the #bugfix. Now the extension works (on my machine) and I can get back to shaving this yak.

@joeyh hi! do you know about the latest "large object" work in #git? seems like "promisors" and "pluggable objects" could very well replace at *least* the smudge interface, see lwn.net/SubscriberLink/1057561

Jekyll, Imagemagick, Cloudflare and Orphaned Branches: Over the last week I have migrated my photography site from a homegrown setup to Jekyll (which I already use for other projects). One of the reasons behind this was to make use of responsive images, something that wasn’t practical to manage by hand but the jekyll-responsive-magick plugin makes easy. Alas, I run into a small snug with Cloudflare. ... #Tech, #Jekyll, #Git: aye.tf/2026/02/13/orphaned-bra
