#openSUSE contributors are refining the #Git-based packaging workflow for #Leap 16, bringing greater transparency, pull-request-driven changes, and standardized processes across repositories. Git is now central to how Leap evolves. #Linux https://news.opensuse.org/2026/02/19/community-refines-git-packaging-workflow/
TIL: what's git commit amend? does it modify the previous commit?
it's like a time travel; rewrites the repo timeline; amend staged files to "previous" commit; previous commit is actually replaced and not modified; commits are immutable

Each #OpenBSD virtual machine hosting #Git repositories on the #GameOfTrees Hub is configured by editing the gotsys.conf configuration file.
We run a live demo which shows configuration examples to help new users with getting started: https://demo.gothub.org/
Ever found yourself in a #git mess? 😱
We did, last week. We broke our own Git workflow 😄
So we decided to do a quick debrief on our podcast and provide some useful insights & tips 💡 when working on a shared code base ->

I'm not sure what this site looks at to say that, but an “A+” 🥰 https://www.websitecarbon.com/website/gitroot-dev/
Oh, and yes, since https://gitroot.dev is a gitroot instance, all instances (with at least the same plugins) should have the same score.
Don't thank me, it's my pleasure 😎

Anyone have experience in using #Azure #DevOps or #Repos as an alternative to plain old #GitHub?
At work this seems to be the direction they want to go. Us developers (a team of two) just want decent Git hosting with an issue tracker like on GitHub where it’s actually easy to refer to and discuss code. Also to do code reviews.
Is Azure DevOps actually suitable for that? And if so how does it compare in complexity/ease of use? Never heard of it myself until now.
Did you know? For the first 3 years of Git (2005-2008), GitHub didn't exist 🤯
There were no PRs. No "Merge" buttons.
Code was shared via email patches 📧
Git was designed to work perfectly without a central server—a "distributed" philosophy we still love today.
Could you survive a week without a Merge button?

Two weeks for family, and here we are with more context for a 32k limit. Looks like the AI Agent in my head wasn't ready for the changes done in the life, or maybe I'm getting fatigued, either ways...
If you felt that the tool isn't "tooling", give a read:
