You can shit all on GitHub you want, but how accessible and easy to use their desktop app is, should be a standard for other Git services too.

I spent a whole day figuring out how Git works when you want to check out, and change other people's PRs. Stuff like that is literally one click with the desktop app instead of several commands.

les collègues qui concèdent que c'est quand même plus simple en ligne de commande qu'avec un interface graphique, c'était pas prévu mais cool 😅

I like having a clean commit history that shows the logical steps to solve a problem rather than my messy, convoluted path I took to find the solution.

But when is enough enough? I'm starting to spend more time cleaning up git history than building new features.

There's got to be a balance between "clean commits" and "shipping code" 🤔

The #Git integration in the #JetBrains products is really one of the greatest pieces of shit I ever used.

Created a new feature branch from develop, commited and it somehow fumbled the remote to origin/develop during the push.

I just overwrote our development branch. GREAT.

I need help with Git!
I'm a big fan of how easy GitHub Desktop works, but since we decided to switch to Codeberg, I can't use some of its features anymore.

The feature I used the most was checking other people's pull requests and applying updates directly to their branch. Is there any way to do that with Codeberg without too complicated commands?

A lot of steps for starting new computational modelling projects in #NeuroML are repeatable and can be automated. So, I created a #Cookiecutter template to quickstart these projects. It includes boilerplate code and implements lots of other recommended/best practices in model and software development. Feedback/suggestions welcome!
