@Tuxi ⁂ @Hamiller Friendica @Reznik (streams) ist ein Fork eines Forks dreier Forks eines Forks (eines Forks?) von Hubzilla von Mike Macgirvin selbst. Es ist im Oktober 2021 entstanden und in der Bedienung etwas einfacher, moderner und mehr an das heutige Fediverse angepaßt. Es ist kein monströses "soziales CMS" mehr und kann sich nur noch über Nomad, Zot6 und ActivityPub verbinden.
Allerdings kommt man auch von Friendica aus in (streams) leichter rein als in Hubzilla, auch weil Hubzilla sehr viel mehr Einstellungen und Vorbereitungen im neuen Kanal braucht, bis man loslegen kann. Außer man braucht einen RSS/Atom-Aggregator, diaspora*-Verbindung und/oder mehrere Profile, denn das kann von den dreien nur Hubzilla.
(streams) wird übrigens in Klammern geschrieben, weil es eigentlich offiziell und mit voller Absicht namenlos ist. "streams" ist der Name des Code-Repository. Und damit die Community irgendwas hat, womit sie das ganze Ding benennen kann, haben sie den Namen des Repository dafür genommen und Klammern drumgepackt. Mike selbst redet eher vom Repository als von der eigentlichen Anwendung.
Forte wiederum ist von August 2024 und ein Fork von (streams), dem auch Nomad on Zot6 entfernt worden sind. Es nutzt also als erste und einzige Fediverse-Serveranwendung ActivityPub für nomadische Identität. Ansonsten ist es fast featuregleich mit (streams).
Mike entwickelt übrigens (streams) und Forte parallel weiter, weil sie noch viel Code gemeinsam haben. Das heißt, was in Forte neu eingebaut wird, wird auch in (streams) neu eingebaut.
(streams) hat gegenüber Forte den Vorteil, wenigstens ein paar öffentliche Server mit (einigermaßen) offener Registrierung zu haben. Der einzige mir bekannte in Europa ist Nomád von @Der Pepe (Hubzilla) ⁂.
Ich habe übrigens mal Tabellen angelegt, in denen Mastodon, Friendica (etwas lückenhaft), Hubzilla, (streams) und Forte direkt miteinander verglichen werden. Hier geht's entlang.

Whee, just had my first self-inflicted Friendica outage! Turns out, `console storage move` requires that both the old and new storage locations have enough free space for the entire size of the files you're moving, rather than just moving them piecemeal. Whoops!

#Friendica hat mit der optionalen ATProto Implementierung einen großen Sprung gemacht. Ich kann Friendica vollständig als ATProto (Bluesky, Blacksky etc) Client einsetzen und damit alle Funktionen von Friendica (Channels, Circles, Sortierungen, Suchfunktion, Userfunktionen) auf Bluesky Kontakte anwenden. Damit zeigt sich bei Friendica praktisch eine Offenheit, die das #Fediverse vor und außerhalb von Mastodon immer ausgemacht hat: das ernsthafte Interesse, sich mit anderen Netzwerken zu verbinden. Mich begeistert diese Interoperabilität einfach.

@benpate #Friendica seems a fairly general purpose almost Facebook replacement (if you can get your friends to join) - But I get your idea of federating location in a controlled way (I like Friendica because of its built in focus on thinking about who you are sharing stuff with ) I also like the idea that it includes location and events (thought I think they are still being developed)
