FediCon kicks off tomorrow in Vancouver 💫
And... our co-founder @michael is making the trip across the Atlantic to be there - that's over 7,460 km!
We wouldn't make these trips if we didn't believe in the Open Social Web and how it can be used to better the world.

One thing I love about the #Fediverse is that negative posts usually get less traction than positive, interesting or constructive posts.
I occasionally have the bad habit of posting discourse rants, but they usually get one or two interactions at most; but when I share a game I've been playing or just a little tidbit of my hobbies, I get tons of friends interacting with it.
It's actively improving my social experience on and my relationship with the internet.
And – I'm sorry for all the negativity I've spread lately. That's not what I want this account to be. I've deleted some posts that I made in a bad mindset.

fediverse-we-have: Has proven it works, and has delightful #apps to show for it.
fediverse-we-need: The future of #SocialNetworking, where it pervasively serves #people and #society at large.
#fediverse-we-get: Still unknown.
Imho the trajectory of #development of the fediverse-we-have does not lead to fediverse-we-need.
Fediverse-we-get on this path is either a nice #SocialMedia niche for a time, or eventual corporate capture and takeover. A corporate #SocialWeb.
