I'm still torn between being a user or an admin when it comes to Pixelfed. Its user experience isn't anywhere near as smooth or nice as Mastodon's. I originally thought about setting up a Pixelfed instance, but after running into all the slowness and bugs in that PHP-based system, I got frustrated. I know I can get it super fast and polished, but I also see value in the original core. It should feel right. I don't have the time to contribute to multiple platforms right now, and I know this could easily become a rabbit hole. So for now, I'm sticking with Mastodon.

So Freunde und Reisebegleiter unseres Urlaubs in UK 2025
Dir Reisegesellschaft ist in Harwich angekommen und chillt noch ein wenig in der Stadt.
Die Fahrt war so weit OK, wenn auch zum Teil viel Verkehr.
Das die hier keine Ahnung vom Verkehr haben, merkt man schon daran, das Höchstgeschwindigkeit auf 113 km/h beschränkt ist

Der Urlaub hat uns allen gefallen und ich weiß wieder, warum ich so gern hier bin. UK liegt mir einfach, auch wenn ich sprachlichen ein DAU bin, ich mag die Sprache.
Das Zelt haben wir heute Morgen im Regen abgebaut und auch die Vorhersage sagte, das es dort den ganze. Tag nass bleibt.
Eine halbe Autostunde entfernt, war nichts mehr mit regen, dafür Sonne satt und bis nach Harwich 25--28 Grad in England.
Jetzt in Harwich noch mal bei ASDA eingekehrt und Abendessen in Form von Sandwiches geholt.
Noch mal so typisch britisch muss sein.
Was cool ist, das man auch #IrnBru hier bekommt, da habe ich mir auch noch mal ne Flasche geholt 🥰
Euch allen ein Dankeschön 🥰 ihr wart eine Tolle Reisebegleitung, ihr seid der Grund, warum das #Fediverse so gut ist

Today I'm musing that there's both the medical and technical expertise and experience here in the #Fediverse to create an AI endocrinologist that is more effective advising on #trans femme hormones, application and doses than 95%+ of the human endos out there ...

If there's any upside to all of this age verification BS, I think it just might be that it results in people self-hosting simply because the alternative is worse. I think the future of the Internet will involve people relying on evil corporations less and less, and themselves more and more. I've always fantasized an Internet consisting of everyone running their own servers out of their own closets, and that might not be a fantasy for much longer, at this rate. I've never done anything like this before. If I can host my own Fediverse instance(s) on my own hardware, anyone can.

Regressavamos de um dia de trabalho, o meu colega de casa queria ir ao barbeiro e eu disse deixa sair naquele cruzamento perto de casa e vais lá.
Saio do carro nada avisava chuva, apanhei uma molha em 500m faz favor até o boxer ficou molhado, meto a chave à porta do prédio para de chover... Lá fui tomar o segundo banho do dia, saio do banho estou a ver a janela um sol radiante na rua... 🤬
