Glad to be in #Berlin right now to offer my helping hands to facilitate #FediDay, the largest #Fediverse conference event in the German speaking realm as of this day.
Today, at @cbase (which just celebrates its 30-year anniversary btw) we are about to welcome more than hundred beings, fellow fedizens and ppl who are curious to learn more about the #Fediverse. Yesterday I already had the chance to meet fellow participants and the Berlin Fediverse Stammtisch crew who are organizing this event.
Really appreciated the warm welcome, even though we have never met in person before đ @samvie @tobias @vgrass @elektropunk
Also ran into a few of todays speakers as well, which turned into nice conversations. And even met guys affiliated with the local public library who worked hard at the bar to serve drinks (even Fediverse-themed ones) to all the thirsty attendees 𫶠@celephais @uhu5pecht
I have to leave early tomorrow, and will therefore sadly miss the public boardcast themed last day of this converence. But I already know it was worth the 2x7hour train ride across the whole country anyway đ Thanks all you guys.

Ich verstehe, was Du meinst.
Nach meiner Erfahrung landen die meisten Wechselwilligen auf Mastodon. Und da wiederum auf mastodon.social, das oft automatisch vorgeschlagen wird. Die wenigsten Wechselwilligen erwarten einen Account fĂŒr das gesamte Fediverse, weil sie oft denken,Mastodon sei schon das gesamte #Fediverse (wenn sie ĂŒberhaupt das Wort Fediverse kennen).Und gewissermaĂen ist Mastodon ja eine TĂŒr dorthin.
Ein einfacher Einstieg ist m.E. wichtig. Ist man "drin",dann kann man sich langsam eingewöhnen. Und wer dann noch mehr will, kann sich etwas durchlesen, z.B. gibt es viele Tags+Accounts fĂŒr die Hilfe im Fediverse. Meist begegnen die einem auch im Laufe der ersten Zeit,da sie viel posten. Und Neulinge werden meist vielfach begrĂŒĂt und informiert.

Wenn der sogenannte "Mainstream" tatsĂ€chlich durch die User seinen Weg ins Fediverse fĂ€nde, könnte es sein, dass die Themen sich rasch Ă€ndern. Denn der sogenannte "Mainstream" wird auf den profitorientiert gesteuerten SocialMediaPlattformen gelenkt durch Algorithmen und Bezahl-Optionen fĂŒr mehr Reichweite. ZusĂ€tzlich gibt es jede Menge Bot-Armeen, die Klicken, Liken, Verteilen und aus einigen Staaten sowie (transnational, politischen etc) Organisationen auch gelenkte und absichtlich forcierte "Mainstream"-Beeinflussung. DAS ist alles gelenkt. Hier im #Fediverse ist es nicht gelenkt. Das nennt man "Bottom up". Entsprechend wĂŒrde sich also ein "Mainstream" mit anderen Themen entwickeln als heute auf den profitorientiert gesteuerten #SocialMediaPlattformen.
