pap #077: la “catena social” e il genocidio
Dalla “social catena” di Leopardi alla “catena social” il passo non è né breve né per forza solo distruttivo. I sistemi/sismi generalisti – sì – rubano dati e vendono i nostri contenuti (lavorati e semilavorati, sempre gratuiti) da circa un ventennio: fb, ig, x, youtube eccetera. Grosso modo anche io ci sono dentro, con l’ossessione della disseminazione di materiali nell’orizzontalità dei (vari) loci, contro la verticalizzazione implicita nell’ideologia egocentrica ed economicista dello “youtuber” (o “influencer”, “podcaster” eccetera).
In mezzo, e insieme, e in legame, in questi ultimi venti e forse trent’anni: la demolizione dello stato sociale (sostituito, anche qui, dallo status sui social – let’s play), della sanità e della scuola pubbliche. E la parallela prassi di smantellamento dei centri sociali.
Bon (malissimo): la parola “sociale”, se cade la “e”, pare proprio vada perdendo più di qualcosa. Ma è completamente vero? Cosa sarebbe stato, dal punto di vista della comunicazione della realtà di morte, il genocidio, senza i social, e senza la rete? Come avrebbero potuto i palestinesi comunicare, registrare in diretta, testimoniare, nelle condizioni oggettive imposte dal colonialismo israeliano? Why are they so extremely naive? Had a BBQ at the weekend and was in the kitchen discussing big tech social media with a few people aged from 21 to 53.
Upshot is: Facebook is just a rolling ads service; Twitter is just full of hate speech; WhatsApp has become more enshittified.
But for most of them: 'people I know are on there, so I'll stay. For now'
Big tech has done a great job in hooking in the masses and I genuinely understand why it's difficult for some to disentangle themselves.

One of the wildest code matchup must be #mdx. It was already kinda strange to mix #HTML with #JavaScript in a #jsx file. But someone didn't think it was enough. Now we have MDX that adds #markdown on top of that! I love it. The fact that those tree language just accidentally works together without collision is something. I just discovered that cause I'm discovering #docusaraus, a #react based documentation platform made by #facebook. They might be one of the creepiest company installing spyware in your phone to track the other apps I'm your phone but the open source team did make some crazy good frameworks and tools.
