I admit that as much as I swore it wouldn’t happen to me, I also fell out of the #privacy community. At some point after you switch to #Linux there’s really not much further to go, and no interest to go further at all. And you also start breaking your boundaries little by little - using #WhatsApp, paying via credit card and using your real identity while doing so. Really, the only thing remaining from my privacy community days is a steadfast refusal to open accounts on #Facebook and #Instagram - which effectively means separation from the online zeitgeist in my country and not being able to network as well. I’m not sure that’s really a good thing.

I am afraid that Elon and Zuckerberg cooked themselves in when they allied with certain interest groups and #enshitified their product in the quest for ad money. #Facebook will start limiting links too for professional accounts trying to keep people on a platform that is dying from scamming, reels and AI slop. History of business is not going to be kind to those who destroyed global agoras for ephemeral gains.
