#PSA If you're using #Docker and rely on Watchtower to keep containers updated then you might want to check it's still working as the original author has stepped away and marked the project "Archived".

@gozes it's very lightweight, no #docker . That's why I picked it. I also try to avoid npm/pnpm/node.js, again for the sake of keeping things lightweight, few dependencies, secure, little ongoing maintenance once set up.
My #StarterPack for #Linux #SelfHosting
1) Heimdall start page for your LAN
2) Shiori bookmarks
3) Copyparty for filesharing through web or FTP
4) Kanboard Kanban board
5) Kiwix for offline website content
6) calibre-web for ebooks
7) Hyper8 for self-hosted video content, like a poor man's #Youtube.
8) mkdocs for a markdown-based wiki
I self-host all of these, using #nginx as the web server in all cases. These all consume very little RAM and CPU, and would run very performantly on a Raspberry Pi 5 2GB, with a decent SSD. No #docker needed for any of them.
#OpenSource
Guys running #Docker in production, beware of the log size. Without log rotation, those disks will be full in no time! https://ntietz.com/blog/til-docker-log-rotation/ #DevOps #Docker
Self-hosting tip: always set `restart: unless-stopped` on your Docker containers, not `restart: always`. The difference? `unless-stopped` respects when you manually stop a container. `always` restarts it even after you deliberately stopped it.

Es gibt mehrere Möglichkeiten Winprogramme unter Linux laufen zu lassen.
Stichwörter sind: #Wine, #virtualBox, #docker
Hot take: you don't need Kubernetes for self-hosting. Docker Compose handles 95% of homelab workloads. Save K8s for when you have 3+ nodes and need actual orchestration. A single docker-compose.yml with 30 services is perfectly fine.

The “Developer 16" MacBook Pro” that my employer sent me does not give me admin privileges and I am not in its sudoers file, so I cannot accept the license terms for #Apple’s #Xcode Command Line Tools, preventing me from running such basics as git.
Also, #Docker Desktop for Mac is not available via the #Jamf “Self Service+” app, only #Podman. Even though the former is available from the #Microsoft #Intune Company Portal on #Windows and I have a license for it.
I repeat: ffs
