Pretty pleased with myself over the last few days:

⁃ Intel #MacMini (IMM) brought back from retirement
⁃ IMM Repurposed as the main #Plex server
⁃ IMM #Docker installed and a custom #PiHole container installed
⁃ IMM PiHole now used to provide #DNS for my #Tailscale #Tailnet **
⁃ So I’m fully DNS’ed and de-advertised on all my Tailnet devices

The #Synology NAS has never had CPU and Memory loads so low, with taking Plex it.

The only issue I have is that only one client address shows in PiHole but I think that is a side effct on using Tailcale.

** - Means my good lady who doesn’t trust the technology (no Tailscale) can use her devices how she wishers

Pretty darned chuffed!

Some rules to apply to your Dockerfile in order to make your Docker image more reproducible :

- do not use "latest" versions of base images
- use official images pulled from the official Docker library
- pin versions in pip/apt/npm/yum... install (no apt-update)
- clean temporary files (apt-get clean, rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*, etc.)

Die Entwickler von #Pi_hole haben eine neue Version veröffentlicht. Der #Core #Stack steigt auf 6.4, das #Web #Interface auf 6.4.1 und #FTL auf 6.5. Nutzer von #Docker #Images greifen zur Ausgabe mit dem Tag 2026.02.0. Vor dem Update empfiehlt sich wie immer ein #Backup der eigenen Einstellungen. Der #Teleporter sollte dafür erste Anlaufstelle sein und erledigt das schnell und zuverlässig.
