I never touched #Reddit or even really #Twitter or any form of microblogging until around 2019, because that was when the phpBB forums I was on went defunct. I saw how insane those people were and stopped using them around 2020 or 2021.

I never used #Tumblr, #TikTok, or #Instagram. I got rid of #Facebook years ago when I realized I hated everyone in my family, I hated everyone from high school, and concluded people I hate should not see updates from me.

I’m glad that I can read things from extremely online people who participate Internet culture and not understand about 90% of it, nor the memes that somehow make it through my filter.

When I say extremely online culture, I’m referring to Internet culture in general.

The #Fediverse is open. #Mastodon allows people to edit their posts and doesn't limit what you have to say to a stupidly-prohibitive character-limit. And now you can more easily quote others' posts with your own comment, and see replies from other open/fedi servers around the globe (not just Mastodon but dozens of similar/different networks) including "Threads" users who've enabled the federation option. It's stable and these are good enhancements. #BlueSky is a little "walled garden", private club by comparison, but I maintain accounts at both platforms.
