Fediverse / ActivityPub experts, need some advice 🙂
I assume that subscribing to relays just pulls in posts to your server and doesn't affect your own posts' reach?
Is this a fair assessment, or does the relay subscription push your own posts to others in any way?

Thinking of setting up one of my sites as a WordPress setup so I can experiment. Will probably use the site meant for short and original fiction.
It would allow me to post shorts, play with WordPress ActivityPub, and have a platform for Storyteller if I try and port to WordPress.
Still trying to figure out the module as I work. If I get it working right I may shift all of my Drupal and other Technology posts to the @CWSmith@hybridized-concepts.com setup. Still haven't configured any of the images there.
We are VERY excited about all the features landing in the next release! However, we’re also introducing one big breaking change—and that’s the purpose of this post. WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE USING BADGEFED TO CREATE A DATABASE BACKUP BEFORE UPGRADING.
(GO, do it now, we will wait for you and then continue reading this post.)
Don’t worry: if you forget, chances are you won’t lose data, but recovery may be trickier. If you can, please back up first.
Summary (read before upgrading)
mydomain.db. The previous single default filename is no longer used by default.SQLITE_DB_PATH to your desired (or current) filename (for example, badgefed.db).If you already upgraded without preparing
badgefed.db (or backup), copy it to the data directory, and rename it to the new domain-based filename. The 0.1.1 release and full release notes are coming soon!
Badge up!
You can read the article "BadgeFed 0.1.1 — Breaking change: per-domain database filenames" by @mapache here as well.

for FEP-ef61, i don't have personal experience with implementing it, so i can't speak for how easy/hard it is, i just know it exists. but there's a section in for compatibility with the rest of the current network, so it's not necessarily a split.
but adding the identity to another server will generally be seen as a new actor by instances who do not support this, so that's definitely not perfect.
Bon bah ça va être leur de faire des issues sur le support de ce truc
#ActivityPub
Coming soon! Chat and call anyone in the #fediverse via #activitypub and #webrtc (Still unnamed project) Lots of visual changes today.

You will be able to chat and call with anyone in the fediverse, though it seems some nodes (mstdn.ca, universeodon.com) have some issues with #activitypub

getting content creators here is key and the killer app for that IMO is that their work can be natively social. as in the article, podcast, video, song etc is itself an #ActivityPub item.
in the corporate platform world, making the content there means they have some level of ownership and say over sharing. making it outside of their walls means creators have to track all the posts that link to it on many different platforms.
with growth, we can allow for independence and simplicity.
