More adventures in #selfhosting the #fediverse for #keyboardvagabond! I've been doing a lot to fix and tinker with #metrics, though I still need to get #alerts set up. If anyone is curious as to what the incoming #activitypub traffic looks like for my #piefed instance, here ya go!

68% is lemmy.world, total traffic is about 1,000 to 1,200 requests per minute with 164,216 since requests were logged earlier in the day.

You’d think people would want to work together to get people off of #BigSocial yet people want to be weird & engage in protocol wars. That lets me know it’s not truly about the public benefit #atproto #activitypub #opensocialweb

Manchmal schreibt es sich Nachts am Besten.

I'm fascinated to (re-?)discover that the core #ActivityPub deliverable was the C2S API, not the S3S federation protocol.

Was the underlying assumption that servers were boring, one/few implementations could handle all cases, and innovation was going to be centered around clients?

Oh, and funny thing, it will be easy to make the forum accessible to ActivityPub with the ActivityPub gateway, as the content is the same as for blogs.

A implementação do pagamento seria opcional.

If I had the money, I'd match every VC investment in #bluesky with one to #mastodon. Make it a fair fight.

And I'd probably also pay some people to clone bluesky but run it on #ActivityPub and call it Twitter since he says that's not the name anymore.

version 0.1.6 should fully support ed25519 keys. working on a library to resolve keys from IDs which should hopefully take advantage of that transparently

That's a long list.

All of those domain name extensions are controlled by a single corporation in the United States: Identity Digital Inc., based in Washington State and owned by Ethos Capital, which is located in Massachusetts.

Identity Digital accounts for roughly 30% of all word-based domain name extensions. But they’re not alone — many other word-based extensions are also managed or sponsored by U.S. corporations, which places them under U.S. jurisdiction.

Digital sovereignty is important. That’s why I recommend avoiding word-based domain extensions, as well as .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, and .edu, all of which are governed under U.S. jurisdiction.
