@skeptiker I like the basic idea of this blogpost. But I am mildly confused by the subtext, as it reads like #atproto was the breakthrough in decentralised social networks, as if #ActivityPub did not exist way before. 😅

You're seeing every major media and big tech company submit to pressure from Trump. You've also seen the different responses from #mastodon and #bluesky to government pressure to censor.

Please help get everyone prepped for what's coming and build an uncontrollable alternative.

Finde […]

Just a thought as I work through some bugs reported to NodeBB... would there be interest in ActivityPub.space hosting a "security" category for discussion around vulnerabilities, CVEs, and such that are related to ActivityPub?

For example, if NodeBB were to receive a bug bounty report and responsibly disclose the details, it would be ideal to have it archived in a place where it won't just disappear off the feed in a matter of minutes.

The more I work on #ONI, which is basically a web components frontend for an as basic as possible #ActivityPub client to server service, the more I realize I'm just not built for JavaScript programming.

Despite having put in the hours every day for a number of months, the whole Promise paradigm just doesn't seem to click for me.

Now I'm struggling to create a throbber component (easy) while fetches happen in the background (easy) and then have it replaced (not easy) by actual content (easy).

😱 Gaaah!!!

I may be a bit weird, but I guess many here on the #fediverse are too. Reading the php code has taught me more about #ActivityPub/Streams than anything else. Thank you, @Edent, for the enlightenment!

ActivityPub is built on JSON-LD, right? how well do the ActivityPub implementations support RDF? is it worth it to look at ActivityPub as RDF or would real world implementations I'd interface with trip over their own feet?

I'm asking because JSON-LD was made for RDF but JSON itself was made for object oriented programming and those are kind of different approaches to think about data. most programmers know object oriented but fewer than those know how RDF works. so it wouldn't surprise me to find half baked JSON-LD-ish but not quite RDF implementations in the wild and I'd rather know in advance what to expect.
