I'm excited to show off #Atlas - a social mapping server for the #Fediverse. In about two weeks, we've gone from crazy on I70 to a fledgling app that lets me annotate any location on the globe and share it over #ActivityPub
There's still a lot to do. But there's enough here for me to ask for your help. I would love to hear what you think of this short video, and to start talking to everyone out there who's interested in making maps on the Fediverse.

On this topic, calling all #Go #developers interested in lending a hand.
I have two major goals for increasing the unit-test coverage in the individual packages that #GoActivityPub is comprised of.
These are tasks that are very accessible even for people new to the #ActivityPub spec and I would prefer to support new developers that want to give it a try than wait until I have time to do them myself.
The only requirement I have is that if you want to help, you already have some public Go projects that I can have a look at.

People criticized my decision to delay releasing Loops source. I made the right call.
With everything now public, admins + devs running the beta are loving it.

Reading the word salad of the W3C ActivityPub specification, I'm convinced again that using Mastodon ActivityPub is the only logical choice. If people need convincing. I recommend to read the first sentence
The HTTP GET method may be dereferenced against an object's id property to retrieve the activity.
So if I use a HTTP GET to retrieve an object, W3C ActivityPub says I should get an activity back? And it's "the activity" so there is a canonical activity for the object. I believe calling W3C ActivityPub a document with Kafkaesque qualities is well deserved.

Instead of the CBC hosting a Masto server, they should build the ActivityPub protocol into their news stories like #WordPress and #Ghost already do, so they don't have to maintain a server or moderate user content.
#ActivityPub is baked into the underlying technology, so whenever a new article is posted, it's immediately available on the fediverse.
