Been testing ty recently in place of basedpyright - one element it doesn't seem to understand is the type returned from a with statement - although I haven't narrowed this down any further:
with research_doc.open_experiment_results_file(ref_exp) as results_file:
state = results_file.load_market_state(spec)
It doesn't understand what type results_file is and can't display suitable completions - even though the function has type annotations - pyright is able to offer completions #python
Python Tip #6 (of 365):
Use short-circuiting to collapse nested ifs.
Short-circuiting means "and" and "or" only evaluate their right-hand expression if it's required.
Meaning, these nested "ifs":
if result:
if result.success:
print("success!")
Can be written as one "if":
if result and result.success:
print("success!")
If "result" is None (falsey), "result.success" won't be evaluated, avoiding the exception that would be raised.

Today I moved my Jupyter Lab installation to #Python 3.14, because the last of my requirements for Geopandas and friends were met on Windows 11.
Installing the whole dependency mountain using uv took less than 2 minutes on a new PC.
As always, the requirements.txt file is on

I'm sure that Ubuntu will also work fine, I'll test that when I get the chance.
