If anyone knows of people/groups that actually care about people, getting people off of #BigSocial, advancing the Open Social Web and making the spaces more accessible, safe and user-friendly let me know. Just without the weird ideology, religion and protocol wars. #Fedi #fediverse #opensocialweb #activitypub #atproto #nostr

Ok, one more #selfhosted trail database. wanderer.to

This one has #activitypub, IDK how useful it is, but at least I find it cool.

Anyway, I was wondering for a long time if there a good way to share tracks/trails with friends. It seems a number of self-hosted and privacy-friendly services finally started to appear. I like it.

Those familiar with activitypub know what I should be doing with mastodon sending several unfollow commands? On my end I handle the first command but it keeps sending those, it becomes a problem if I follow again, it handles that also correctly, but unfollow commands keep coming which undos the follow command. #activitypub #fediverse

snac (@snac@comam.es)
I've just published version 2.82 of #snac, the simple, minimalistic #ActivityPub instance server written in C. It includes the following changes:

The language in which a post is written can now be set from the UI; you must configure the list of languages you usually post in in the User Settings.

Added support for bullet points in posts (lines starting with an asterisk or a hyphen, plus a space).

Added Dutch (nl_NL) translation (contributed by martijndeb).

Added Western Frisian (fy_NL) translation (contributed by martijndeb).

Mastodon API: Fixed repeated entries in timelines.

Added nodeinfo 2.1 support.

Fixed boosts from the command line not showing in the public timeline (contributed by xvello).

Updated several language files (contributed by zen and daltux).

Retrieving a post's replies is now possible via ActivityPub.

If you find #snac useful, please consider buying grunfink a coffee or contributing via LiberaPay.

Question for those of you who are #selfhosting your #fediverse/ #activitypub instance with a very small number of users (max 5, let’s say): how many other instances are you federated with?

No reason, I’m just curious.

FYI my little #gotosocial instance that hosts @logistics
(with ~150 followers at present) is federated to ~6,500 other instances.

Please boost for visibility.

@mackaj bsky I don’t care. Masto instances in Aus may impact Aus. What defines an instance because lots of different tech uses #ActivityPub?

@index
Also, it's common practice for fedizens to copy a link to a post on an AP-enabled service, and paste it into the search bar in their fediverse app, to find that post and interact with it. This still doesn't work for posts on Ghost services.
