WordPress isn't an obvious choice for a photography portfolio, but when built correctly, it does do this 🚀
Very pleasing, for saying I didn't hold back on image size or quality.
I tested 10 other portfolios, built with Wix, Format, Zenfolio and Webflow.
The average mobile score was 59.9.

How hard is it to have an AI chatbot spit out the correct answer to a user’s question about a software interface, when the AI’s only job is to deal with queries about that one product?
Quite hard, apparently.
I went on a rant yesterday after my experience using the support chatbot on WordPress.com.
Side note: The answer was simple, and should have been obvious to me, but the thought of having to unpublish an article to not have it automatically share to social media when updated just didn’t occur to me.
When I post a new article, WordPress asks me if I want to share it and or send it as a newsletter, so why not ask when I update?
The post screen gives the option to select if it will be shared to the Fediverse when I update right in the sidebar – so why not do the same for the other platforms? Bad UX.

Ik heb eerder geschreven over #Publii Ik vind het een prettig eenvoudig CMS, makkelijker dan #wordpress, MAAR door de eenvoud is het niet makkelijk aan te passen aan persoonlijke voorkeuren zonder diep in CSS of Javascript te hoeven duiken. Voorbeeld (voor Publii gebruikers). Ik wil geen featured-image boven aan een post. Het gebruikersforum geeft ook nog weinig respons op mijn vragen. Ik zoek een alternatief voor WP om een statische website te bouwen. (voor dummies) 🙂

URL Image Importer est un #plugin qui importe des images depuis des URLs directement dans la médiathèque #WordPress . On colle une ou plusieurs adresses et il télécharge, valide puis enregistre le contenu, quel que soit l’hébergeur. Il ajuste le comportement selon l’espace temporaire disponible, peut basculer les fichiers volumineux vers un stockage cloud et propose un aperçu de l’occupation du disque.
