I fixed a layout jump by putting both views on the screen simultaneously and just dropping the opacity of the one I don't care about.

I am a bad person. #SwiftUI

Next time, I’m going to focus on simple truths when building the app. More but simpler structs and classes. #SwiftUI

I’m really regretting trying to do MVVM in my SwiftUI app. I had heard this was the way to so it and it works, mostly, but it’s so much code. I’ve been thinking for weeks about throwing out everything between the JSON and custom views. I want to put it off another release or two though. #SwiftUI

Got a good chunk of the invite creation flow settled. Tomorrow night, let's start to think about how invites are received and work from that end. See you then!

I'm making a seasonal anime guide app, in the open for all to experience and learn from.

Let's start thinking about what happens when a user has an account but is invited by email!

Amazing how easy #swiftui is at the start. However, a bug free working app is another thing altogether. I’m still learning so much. Why is that not updating? Why is the height wrong sometimes? Why isn’t that synching? Why I did my app revert to default data until I restarted it?

The small things are sometimes a few days of battle especially when I can only spare an hour or two and context switching to other languages/projects for actual work. A lot of it is nuances that I hadn’t thought about. It’s fun though. My small effort is progressing.

There is still a ton of work hiding I guess in releasing this to the App Store as a first timer. I’m still here though and still going uphill.

Maybe having a 7x7 matrix is a bit too much... but then again, won't do no harm by leaving it in

They don't meow though. Maybe in v3.

Had to rewrite the keyboard extension in UIKit, since the 60MB memory limit was tricky for me and #SwiftUI.

That limit was 30MB in 2015, when iPhones had 512MB-1GB RAM. Time to increase it I think.

Got some of the invite code cleaned up, which opened up the question of what should happen if a user gets both an email and an in-app invite. Tomorrow night, let's tackle exactly that. See you then!

There is no way in pure #SwiftUI to have a input view that accepts certain characters only, is there? Or at the very least validates while focused and allows to react on the validation result while focused.

It’s a field in a Form.
The user should at no point be able to enter anything but digits 0-9 (filter out anything else).
I want to limit the range of values (e.g. to 0...9999).
Any number is just as likely (so a Stepper is not a good choice).
Must work with hardware and on screen keyboard.
