Discovered an unexpected benefit of daily-driving a CLI-capable text editor like Emacs:
Instead of sitting with my expensive M5 MacBook Pro while dog-sitting my Mum's very active 6-month-old dog, I can SSH into it using a spare 1-core 1-thread shitbook running NetBSD and work through that.
Just developed a fixed version of a very old and broken MacPorts package recipe using only this workflow.

A bit about #Tor usage, if you ever wanted to know.
I have a couple of working computers and a home one and absolutely routinely, as of now, use Tor for NAT traversal to connect to them remotely via #ssh :
#torify ssh <username@adress.onion>
The connection has rather higher latency than a normal one, but still perfectly usable in the text mode: basic #bash, #MidnightCommander . Forget about GUI, though.
Moreover, it allows me to have a local #Mercurial store (for historical reasons I am not a big fan of #git - skip your disapproval, I am finally not a professional programmer). And last but not least, a version control system is good for writing of scientific articles --- especially if you use #LaTeX, but for a #LibreOffice -based process will do as well. Say,

MaxAuthTries is lower than the number of keys loaded into your SSH agent and you get an authentication error even if you have the key loaded?
Do you use Bitwarden to store your keys and you don't want all of them to be always exposed?
Do you want a clear log of which application uses which key and when?

Today in "Fun with your homelab":
One of my openSUSE MicroOS machines was under heavy load for a week and I could not find out what was wrong. I noticed that SSH logins were no longer possible, the login hung after the "Last login ..." line. Non-interactive logins worked, though.
Today I found out that suddenly this machine requires "ssh -t" or the RequestTTY option to get a working SSH connection. Huh?
All other MicroOS machines are of course unaffected by this (SSH from the same laptop to those machines works without "-t"), otherwise life would not be interesting...
Debugging this and then checking where the high load comes from...

I've always thought YubiKeys are expensive and too easy to loose or forget, so many thanks @Foxboron for ssh-tpm-agent ! I already had per-laptop #ssh keys, now they're sealed with its Tusted Platform Module (and a much shorter pass)👌
