Trying out a TikTok shop feature that involves inviting new or inactive users to the app: tiktok.com/t/ZTH3SujNsR82e-8qa

I've gotta say, I love Mastodon, but I'm gonna miss TT so much when they shut us out of the global app in favor of the US version (which I won't use). There really is nothing like it, and I have a wonderful community there.

This Post (Wont Delete Now or Ever)

There’s a trend going around on the internet these days, one that’s so painfully obvious and, honestly, kind of pathetic, that it’s almost laughable. You know what I’m talking about. Folks post something, maybe something serious, maybe something dumb, and then they tack on a little note at the end, something like “will delete soon” or “might delete later.” And it’s everywhere. Social media, blogs, forums, even meme pages. Everywhere you look, someone is trying to say […]

Americans!

The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on bills like KOSA on December 9th (originally scheduled November 18th)!

A watered-down version of KOSA is being drafted in the House and will be included in a package of up to a dozen dangerous "child safety" bills (COPPA 2.0, Sammy's Law, App Store Accountability Act, etc.).

House GOP on the relevant committee hope this package deal will get key House GOP to drop their opposition to KOSA. However, there will be friction between both chambers.

Why? It's regarding the highly controversial "duty of care" provision in KOSA. House GOP wants it out while Blackburn and relevant House Democrats want it to remain in. Ted Cruz, who is on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has remained on the fence between the two sides but will pick a side soon.

Recommended read: Leaving Space for Grace.

This is the read I’ve been looking for. A long essay that explores our navigational plot through these times of existential crisis. And calibration of the compass based on Victor Frankl’s three-step model in our search for meaning.

What we need, it seems (now, more than ever) are more tragic optimists.

[…] what we can do is face the facts, and choose to be joyful in spite of them.

Not because it all works out for us.

But because it eventually works out for everyone.

We just have to keep the faith. And play our part.

For as long as it takes.

Wait till you have time, then go read the entire article: Leaving Space for Grace.
