The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on bills like KOSA on December 9th (originally scheduled November 18th)!
A watered-down version of KOSA is being drafted in the House and will be included in a package of up to a dozen dangerous "child safety" bills (COPPA 2.0, Sammy's Law, App Store Accountability Act, etc.).
House GOP on the relevant committee hope this package deal will get key House GOP to drop their opposition to KOSA. However, there will be friction between both chambers.
Why? It's regarding the highly controversial "duty of care" provision in KOSA. House GOP wants it out while Blackburn and relevant House Democrats want it to remain in. Ted Cruz, who is on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has remained on the fence between the two sides but will pick a side soon.

This is the read I’ve been looking for. A long essay that explores our navigational plot through these times of existential crisis. And calibration of the compass based on Victor Frankl’s three-step model in our search for meaning.
- There’s Naive Optimism. Everything’s gonna work out! (via delusion or denial)
- Then there’s Existential Nihilism Nothing’s gonna work out ( via analysis or despair)
- And finally, Tragic Optimism. Everything’s gonna work out–just maybe not for me in this lifetime (via faith or hope)
What we need, it seems (now, more than ever) are more tragic optimists.

Not because it all works out for us.
But because it eventually works out for everyone.
