Gamergate originated within the gaming community and brought out its worst practices, exploiting social media capabilities to discredit members of a minority. Gamergate wrote the playbook of weaponized misinformation, later used to create and spread the most successful conspiracy theories.

I've spent the last few months intensely involved in face -to face communication and I have found it exhausting.
Social media cops a lot of criticism but at least you have time to consider what you want to say before it just blurts out of your mouth with no chance of retrieval or deletion.
I'm coming around to the conviction that this is a better way to interact, at least for me anyway.
