The more credentials a participant has, the more likely I will assume Machiavellianism or cynicism if they are using a fallacy. It points to a lack of integrity and not ignorance. I won't argue; I'll stop reading & probably just hide the thread or block everyone. My brain generalizes redundancies into heuristics. If there’s a pattern, I check out. The problem is cynicism has been normalized. That's a dark trait, so a cynical society will always be among the worst possible timelines.

I have an internal counter for a discussion that ticks with every bad faith fallacy I read. If it seems like there is a high frequency of many or all participants in a conversation (e.g., a thread) purposefully using fallacies in bad faith, I will stop reading. If I feel personally attacked, I might start aggressively trolling.
