Un hijo que no madura no solo cansa…
hiere en un lugar donde no existen palabras.
No rompe la voz, pero rompe el alma de la mujer que lo trajo al mundo.
La desgasta como el tiempo desgasta los recuerdos: sin ruido, sin violencia, pero con una constancia que duele.
Cada día le roba un poco de calma, un poco de luz, un poco de esa alegría que antes le nacía sin esfuerzo.
Y ella, sin darse cuenta, aprende a sonreír con heridas invisibles.
No es que no ame.
Es que ama demasiado.
Ama con un amor que no sabe ponerse límites, que no conoce treguas, que no entiende de descanso.
Ama hasta desaparecer, hasta confundirse con el sacrificio, hasta creer que cargar la vida de otro es su destino.
Entrega sus sueños como quien entrega pan, su silencio como quien entrega perdón, su cansancio como quien entrega fe.
Se acostumbra a vivir con el corazón en vela,
a dormir con preguntas,
a despertar con miedo,
a pronunciar “estoy bien” mientras por dentro se desmorona.
Nadie ve sus grietas, porque aprendió a llorar sin lágrimas,
porque ser madre le enseñó a doler en silencio.
Las noches son su verdadero juicio.
Cuando todo calla, su alma habla.
El reloj marca el tiempo, pero ella mide la vida en preocupaciones.
El amor se vuelve ansiedad,
la esperanza se vuelve espera,
y la espera se vuelve cansancio.
Porque una madre no es de hierro, aunque lo parezca.
Es de carne, de miedo, de ternura y de heridas.
Se quiebra por dentro mientras sostiene a otros por fuera.
Y aun así, sigue.
Sigue amando, sigue creyendo, sigue esperando que algún día ese hijo entienda
que el amor no es una carga eterna,
sino un puente para aprender a caminar solo.
Un hijo sabio no es el que nunca cae.
Es el que, al levantarse, comprende el precio de la mano que lo sostuvo.
Es el que madura no por obligación,
sino por gratitud.
El que deja de ser peso
y se convierte en abrazo, en refugio, en descanso.
Porque tu madre no te pide homenajes.
Te pide algo más simple y más profundo:
que crezcas.
Que despiertes.
Que la mires no como un soporte infinito,

In my later teens (from 1988-1990), I sold #cigarettes from a kiosk in front entrance of a #supermarket. It was best paid Saturday job I ever had (paid more than normal supermarket staff and it was hard for a teen to get - you had to be good at arithmetic and trustworthy (no barcode scanners on till, everything entered manually!)
Although the centre was Gallagher/JTI brands, just about every brand of #tobacco was available with huge display shelf (no plain packs then!) and it was affordable back then even with taxes.
I probably helped kill a fuckton of people and also smoked regularly myself, but didn't care as I was still young.
Was thinking about this and how young folk today get sucked in to corporate #SocialMedia, especially if there is chance to make money...
