For people that are into home automation with home assistant and only use zigbee.

I recently learned that the new Ikea Kajplats lightbulbs can be connected through zigbee. People have gotten it to work with both ZHA and zigbee2mqtt.

If you were like me wanting to buy cheaper Ikea bulbs but the Trådfri ones were out of stock? You can still try out the new Kajplats ones 🙂.

So I dunno if people talk much round here about #DigitalMixers but I just sold a Big Tool and I'm using the proceeds to get other tools that I need more at this moment, including I just paid yesterday for a #Behringer XR-18 digital mixer, which comes at an incredibly low price, and has a lot of happy users on the interwebs.

I'll be waiting possibly till July or later for it to arrive, but that's fine. Been waiting this long to get my gear wrangled, at least now I can start planning the signal routing with my old analog mixer.

Good friend/cohort of mine owns an X32rack and is quite happy with it as well. Indeed, both our units have the Ultranet feature, so anytime we are working together he will be able to use all my channels in his main mix as needed.

What clinched it for me, though, was the software support.

My current big mixer is a 16 channel Allen&Heath, which has dual sweepable mids EQs on the strips that swing way out of their weight class. And so, there was an A&H mixer that was in consideration as well, with similar features, but twice the price tag, and I was not at all unwilling to pay that price tag, because I assume there would be that much better quality.

But, where A&H is only supporting Android and Apple, Behringer not only has #Linux desktop apps for the XR-18, they have 32- and 64-bit #RaspberryPi apps. I think there was even source code available for some or all of that.

I mean, easy friggin choice. Nice going, Behringer.

The new server rack is almost alive! 🔋

It features multiple Raspberry Pis running Podman containers, a dedicated backup server, and plenty of storage — basically a self-hosted powerhouse. 🗂️

The custom PC frame at the bottom started as an OpenFrame case and now fits perfectly in the shallow rack. 🖥️

Just a few parts left… can’t wait to see it fully operational. ⚙️

Do you run your own server setup? 🪄

I ordered a Pico Plasma 2350 W from to run a programable LED strip. Somehow, i actually ordered a Pico 2 Plus W basically a souped-up Pico 2. Realising my mistake, i promptly forgot to send it back and pondered a new project. Now 4 months later i have the Plasma 2350 W and an un-planned 2.8" 320 x 240 display for my un-planned Pico Plus 2 W, so i can do some un-planned projects instead of countless planned projects. Now need un-planned spare time to do them in.

I’m thinking of getting a #RaspberryPi Zero and 5 to use for game emulations(and just to try getting into making things). Nintendo/SNES and maybe PlayStation? Any advice? #tech #Technology
