Content warning:#Introduction

Hello! I’m a seasoned IT engineer. I started my career coding TCP/IP stacks in Assembler and C.
Now living in Nasushiobara, Japan, I enjoy "hands-on" projects:
• Restoring 1950s vacuum tube radios.
• Building custom audio gear with Raspberry Pi.
• Gardening and learning about local flora.
I love the intersection of vintage hardware and FOSS. Excited to connect with you!

L’incroyable panneau d’affichage « flip-flap » d’Adamgmakes
Le terme flip-flap est impropre, en français on est censé dire "afficheur à palettes". Mais comme ce n'est pas aussi claquant que "split-flap" en anglais, on a choisi.

I discovered Tailscale recently (late to the party). It’s solved a bunch of security and remote access issues for me. Combined with Nginx Proxy Manager, PiHole (dhcp and local dns) and LetsEncrypt I have a good setup to expose Home Assistant, Next Cloud and various internal administration tools.

I bought a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and an Ethernet adapter and stuck it on the back of my router (powered via its USB port), just running Tailscale as a cheap and hopefully reliable entry point into my home network, even if other services (on my NAS) go down.

Spend 30 minutes the other day with an AI coding agent (the model was Opus 4.7). Made myself a Telegram bot that receives a query, uses it to find a torrent, downloads it, and notifies back when ready.

Uses python, rtorrent, prowlarr, and flaresolverr. Prepared podman quadlet based setup for it.

This one is going to live on my RPi with a storage box connected.
