My #selfhost #RaspberryPi is back in 100% #solar mode. The last test showed the battery isn't big enoughto run it overnight but the 20w panel and 5ah battery are more than enoughto run it during the day even with the panel in partial shade propped up against the house.
Now do I plug it into the grid overnight or go really #smolweb and only let it run with the sun?

@WestkirchenAndi Ich nutze einen Raspi 4 mit 8GB RAM und SD Karte.
Weiterhin habe ich Homeassistant direkt installiert und nutze nicht den Umweg über Docker.
Da ich alle Daten in eine Datenbank schreibe, reicht für diesen PI eine SD Karte vollkommen aus.

@WestkirchenAndi Ich nutze einen Raspberry Pi 4 mit 8 GB RAM mit externer SSD über USB angeschlossen. Das Ganze läuft mit Raspbian OS und komplett verschlüsselter Platte, inklusive Remote Passworteingabe per SSH. HomeAssistant läuft über docker compose.

I have a #RaspberryPi #HQ #camera pointed out the window (looking west, towards the sunset point), it was a clear day yesterday (no clouds) and I grabbed a 24h timelapse with auto-white-balance enabled.
During a cloudy day, the AWB can cause flicker. I thought I can replace the AWB with some calculation to provide the ISO+shutter based on datetime and lat/lng computing the sun elevation.
I was hoping for a simple "bell" like curve, but I'll need to account for sun in the photo. Maybe HDR?
